About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Perinatal Psychiatry Registrar to join our team at St John of God Burwood Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric assessment, treatment, and management for clients in the sub-specialty of Perinatal Infant Mental Health.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure clinical services are delivered within operational and financial targets.
- Consult and collaborate with other team members, general practitioners, and families/caregivers in the development of management plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes, medication, prescriptions, and transfer/discharge summaries.
- Participate in research, continuing professional development, and quality improvement activities.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends in psychiatry and QIC accreditation standards.
- Contribute to efficient and meaningful correspondence with referring general practitioners and agencies/services involved in client care.
- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) and at least 3 years clinical experience in supervised psychiatric practice.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant Mental Health Act, National Mental Health Standards, ethical principles, and legislation governing professional practice.
- Experience working in a community setting with disadvantaged groups is highly regarded.
- Salary: $140,000 to $160,000 + 11.5% Superannuation.
- Fixed term full-time, working 38 hours per week.
