Nautical Engineer

Our team is expanding and we're looking for a skilled Nautical Engineer to join us in Melbourne. This graduate role offers the opportunity to work on complex naval ship designs.

1. We need you to perform structural calculations, ensuring they meet industry standards.
2. You will design and deliver ship systems that meet Class Society rules and requirements.
3. Ensure compliance with legislative requirements from IMO, AMSA, and commercial and naval standards.
4. Conduct Systems Engineering assessments to confirm design compliance.
5. Document deliverables according to our Management Plans.
6. Support Business Development submissions using the ASDEFCON framework.
7. Liaise with clients and subcontractors to deliver high-quality results.

1. Tertiary qualifications in Naval Architecture or related field.
2. Experience with 2D CAD software (AutoCAD) and familiarity with other specialist software.
3. Familiarity with Class Society rules (Lloyds Register Rules) and IMO requirements.
4. Eligibility for ITAR clearance.
5. Knowledge of ship structural design and its application to local structures and foundations.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication ability.
7. Collaborative work style and autonomy to operate using initiative and sound reasoning.
8. Australian Citizenship or eligible for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance.
