Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Description

This position is open for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at our Doncaster site. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing trailers, vehicles, and factory transport equipment.

Job Responsibilities
  • To inspect and report on the condition of trailers, vehicles, and factory transport equipment.
  • To repair and service trailers, vehicles, and factory transport equipment as required.
  • To conduct pre-MOT checks to DVSA/VOSA standards.
  • General garage housekeeping duties.
  • To complete paperwork related to the above tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A full UK driving license with HGV Class C+E license is essential.
  • An industry-recognized qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience working as an HGV mechanic is required.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Excellent mechanical diagnostic skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
