Medical Officer Role

We are seeking a Medical Officer to join our team in a Fixed Term part-time capacity. The role will involve providing medical services, including aviation-based services such as fitness to fly assessments, aviation medicals and aircrew clinical health management.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver medical services in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.
  • Provide medical technical advice to the Joint Health Unit (JHU) Commanding Officer (CO), Joint Health Command (JHC) Health Centre Manager and Commanders of units.
Requirements
  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner.
  • FRACGP, FACRRM, or Vocational Registration.
  • Minimum 2 years' full time (or part-time equivalent) GP experience in the last 5 years.
  • Australian Citizen for Baseline Security Clearance requirements.
  • Basic military aviation medicine course or equivalent - Opportunity to be sponsored to complete this if you do not currently hold any of the below:
    • Australian Defence Force Aviation Medical Officer Course;
    • United States Air Force Primary Aerospace Medicine Course, US Navy or US Army basic courses; or
    • equivalent military AVMED course as determined by Commanding Officer AVMED
