About ESL Teacher Role:

  • We are seeking an experienced and passionate English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher to join our educational community at Mount Druitt Public School.
  • The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching ESL students in primary school, focusing on creating engaging and inclusive learning environments.
  • Applicants must have experience working with diverse student populations and a strong understanding of EAL/D Learning Progressions and ESL Scales.
  • We value teachers who are willing to support and deliver culturally inclusive initiatives, engage with the school community, and foster positive home/school partnerships.

About the Job:

  • Approval to teach primary ESL or currently completing/enrolled in an approved postgraduate qualification for teaching primary ESL is required.
  • Experience/experience in extracurricular activities such as sports, music, dance, and robotics is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EAL/D Learning Progressions and ESL Scales is essential.
  • Ability to support and deliver culturally inclusive initiatives is highly valued.
  • Evidence of outstanding collaborations with staff, students, parents, and community is desired.

Conditions:

  • This is a temporary engagement until completion of approved postgraduate qualification, completed within 12 months if applicable.
