Public Service Garbage Collector

This role presents an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic public service environment, contributing to the maintenance of clean and safe communities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with drainage maintenance
- Performing shopping centre program collections
- Acting as driver of a garbage compactor vehicle (as required)
- Supporting clearance operations involving collection of dumped rubbish
- Carrying out regular routine maintenance on trucks
- Cleaning public toilets and BBQs
- Providing assistance with various tasks undertaken by the Cleansing Unit and as directed by the Supervisor
To be successful in this position, applicants should possess:
- A medium rigid truck license, with heavy rigid license desirable
- Previous experience in a local government environment, highly regarded
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and adhere to planned tasks
- Knowledge of traffic control requirements, including placement of warning signs, barriers, and lights in accordance with the Roadworks Signing Code of Practice
