Assistant Principal Position Overview

St Francis Xavier Primary School is seeking an inspiring educator to fill the role of Assistant Principal. This is a full-time, ongoing position that will commence in January 2025.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a love of learning, enhancing student engagement, and improving outcomes for all students. They will also actively promote a culture of learning and continual improvements, with a focus on learning goals for all students.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current educational practices and be able to develop and maintain structures and strategies for effective liaison, consultation, collaboration, and partnership with parents/caregivers. They will also have experience in data collection and analysis at a student, classroom, and whole school level, with the ability to lead staff in the interpretation of such data.

The successful candidate will be required to give personal witness to Catholic values in carrying out the day-to-day duties of the role and engaging students, staff, and the broader community in the mission of St Francis Xavier as a Catholic school. They will also be expected to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to build positive relationships with all students, staff, families, and the Parish.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant four-year tertiary qualification, must have or commenced Accreditation to Lead in a Catholic School, and a minimum of seven years relevant educational experience. They will also be required to have a current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA).

Key Responsibilities

Give personal witness to Catholic values in carrying out the day-to-day duties of the role and engaging students, staff, and the broader community in the mission of St Francis Xavier as a Catholic school.

Actively promote a culture of learning and continual improvements, with a focus on learning goals for all students.

Develop and maintain structures and strategies for effective liaison, consultation, collaboration, and partnership with parents/caregivers.

Have experience in data collection and analysis at a student, classroom, and whole school level, with the ability to lead staff in the interpretation of such data.

Requirements

Relevant four-year tertiary qualification.

Must have or commenced Accreditation to Lead in a Catholic School.

A minimum of seven years relevant educational experience.

Current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA).
