Port Equipment Inspector

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting structural inspections of port equipment, including ship-to-shore cranes, gantry cranes, and rubber-tyred gantry cranes. This role is critical for maintaining the safety and functionality of port operations equipment.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough inspections of port equipment to identify wear, damage, or defects.
- Assess equipment conditions and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance actions.
- Prepare detailed reports of inspections, including findings, recommendations, and timelines for repairs.
- Collaborate with other engineers and maintenance teams to ensure timely and safe resolutions of equipment issues.
- Evaluate equipment compliance with relevant Australian Standards and safety regulations.
- Utilize technical knowledge to model equipment and design modifications as required.
- Participate in practical tasks to assist with repairs or installations as needed.
- Apply mechanical theory and related knowledge to test and modify operational machinery and equipment.
- Analyze operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings to inform inspection findings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of industry experience as an engineer.
- Previous experience within the Port Services environment is highly desirable.
- Must be an Australian citizen and eligible to gain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
