Maintenance Fitter Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team in our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of machinery.

The successful candidate will perform routine and preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs according to SOPs and maintenance schedules. Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues to minimize downtime is also a key responsibility.

You will assemble, install, and adjust machinery and equipment as required. Coordinating and supervising contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards is another important aspect of this role.

Maintaining spare parts inventory and workshop housekeeping is also essential. Providing technical support to production staff and responding to urgent breakdowns or project work, including overtime if needed, is a critical component of this position.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting & Turning) or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Fitter & Turner in a pharmaceutical or industrial environment, including experience with CNC or high-speed production equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various positions (standing, kneeling, crouching), and work at heights if required.

This role operates in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including cleanroom areas, with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery hazards. Shift work or overtime may be required based on production demands.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cGMP, OH&S, and environmental requirements. A commitment to safe, high-quality workmanship and continuous improvement is also essential.
