About the Role

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Recreation Coordinator to coordinate and continually develop a recreation program designed to meet the individual leisure needs of each resident at our Tom Fitzgerald Aged Care Facility. This role involves coordinating various recreational activities, including driving the bus, either groups of residents or one-to-one, and ensuring that accurate and relevant documentation is up to date.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating and continually developing a recreation program designed to meet the individual leisure needs of each client whilst maximising their recreational independence.
  • Assist with facilitating offsite recreation activities, including driving the bus, either groups of residents, or 1:1.
  • Supervise and support other members of the recreation team regarding structure and development of programs.
  • Encouraging clients to maintain their community associations and contacts.
  • Ensuring that accurate and relevant documentation is up to date.
  • Promoting recreational opportunities available within the broader community.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience within the social sector or a degree qualification in Leisure and Lifestyle, Psychology, Community Development, education, or a similar discipline.
  • Current drivers license (mandatory).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates will be looked on favourably.
  • Experience in working with older people.
  • Experience in recreational program planning and implementation.
  • Knowledge of local area and services.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilise community groups and resources.
