Job Title: Gateway Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Gateway Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. This role involves designing and implementing infrastructure requirements to meet future demand.

The successful candidate will provide expert technical support for project build, test, and solution deployment activities, preparing and maintaining documentation as needed.

They will assist in the development and implementation of strategies, operational policy, and procedures, participating in change management processes and communicating end-to-end implications of configuration changes.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in internet gateway and large-scale data centre networking environments, with demonstrated technical proficiency in F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching/load balancing and proxy systems.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design/evaluate/implement infrastructure requirements to meet future infrastructure demand.
  • Provide expert technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activities.
  • Prepare, review and maintain documentation which may include design documentation, implementation plans, test plans, and support procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies, operational policy and procedures and change initiatives.
  • Participate in change management process and communicate the end-to-end implications of configuration changes.
  • Provide detailed, specialist technical advice, including strategic advice to senior executives.
  • Proactively share knowledge and expertise as the subject matter expert, and aid and mentorship to less experienced colleagues.
  • Undertake research on emerging technologies and provide recommendations on product suitability for the agency.
  • Engage and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability.
  • Manage the operation of backup, high availability and disaster recovery solutions for IT systems.
  • Manage the regular maintenance of patches and support packages for all technical layers.
  • Manage the administration and operation of the Gateway network kit.
