The Malware Defense Team is seeking a high-level analyst with advanced skills in threat actor tracking, malware analysis, and reverse engineering of malware. Our goal is to reduce risk across the organization by using existing or establishing robust cyber-hacking and malicious code containment activities.

  • We work closely with control owners to evolve our malware control strategy and capabilities.
  • Mentoring and training other analysts to improve their malware analysis and reverse engineering skillsets.
  • Performing in-depth analysis of malware including authoring analysis reports.
  • Tracking malware campaigns, malicious actors, and related infrastructure.
  • Creating tools and scripts to assist in malware analysis.

Required skills include:

Malware Analysis Skills
  • Strong direct experience analyzing malware.
  • Intermediate to advanced malware analysis skills.
  • Experience with reverse engineering tools like IDA Pro, x64dbg, OllyDbg, Immunity Debugger, and Ghidra.
  • Analyzing dissembled x86 and x64 code, and other architectures like ARM or MIPS.
  • Reverse engineering malware written in C, C++, VisualBasic, Java, .NET, Delphi, JavaScript, and VBScript.
Technical Skills
  • Solid background in C++ programming and Win32 APIs.
  • Creating malware analysis tools and scripts.
  • Building scripts to emulate malware and parse command-and-control traffic.
  • Knowledge of encryption/obfuscation and reversing techniques.
  • Ability to develop innovative methods to track malware families, infrastructure, and campaigns.
  • Experience with penetration testing or adversary emulation.
  • Background in network traffic analysis.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, IRC.
Certifications
  • Desirable certifications like GCIH, GREM, GCFA, or CISSP.
