Flying Bark Productions, a renowned independent producer of family-focused animation entertainment, is seeking a skilled CG FX Artist to join their team. Based in Alexandria, the studio offers a unique blend of creativity and technical expertise, producing award-winning feature films and TV series.

With over 50 years of experience, our 2D and 3D production facility has established itself as a leader in the industry, working on exciting projects such as Avatar: The Last Airbender and Netflix's Stranger Things animated series.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality FX under the direction of the CG FX Supervisor and the CG Supervisor, relying on both strong technical skills and a developed aesthetic sense to produce results true to the style of the film.

We are looking for mid-to-senior level candidates with production experience in CG animated features/animated episodic, preferably with a portfolio that showcases mature, graphic stylization of reality. A demo reel focused on FX in CG animated films/anime is essential.

The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of Houdini, Katana, and Arnold, with Maya and Nuke being an advantage. They will efficiently execute lookdev and high-quality 3D effects, including particles, fluids, and destruction, and assist in setting up or maintaining the library of effects presets.

In this role, you will also generate compatible caches to export into various software, rendering effects in show-compatible image format elements as needed, and assist with training and providing ongoing support for junior crew members if required.

This position comes with an estimated annual salary of $120,000 - $180,000 AUD, depending on experience. We offer a hybrid approach to work, flexible work-from-home days, and opportunities for career development and growth.
