About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sourcing Specialist to join our Aluminium business in Bell Bay, Tasmania. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering commercial strategies and sourcing projects for Rio Tinto Aluminium (RTA) Pacific Operations.

This is a permanent opportunity within a flexible workplace environment with the option to work a 9-day fortnight. You will work closely with key project stakeholders in Bell Bay, Tasmania and our Aluminium business on the east coast of Australia, as well as broad exposure to stakeholders in Rio Tinto Procurement and corporate functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to a Sourcing Analyst.
  • Perform all activities complying with Contracts & Procurement policies and procedures and ensuring appropriate governance for procurement and contracting activities.
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies, tender packages and recommendations to award.
  • Actively engage stakeholders, both internal and external, to successfully deliver your procurement portfolio.
  • Ensure all projects are successfully delivered using the Ariba platform and meeting Rio Tinto's compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Contractor Management team to ensure new suppliers have a good experience post contract award.
  • Work in a dynamic environment to build a high level of trust through open and transparent relationships and engagements.
  • Work closely with project leads, engineers, construction teams and other project delivery professionals in order deliver the procurement portfolio.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements through development of policies, procedures and best practices, sourcing opportunities and value add activities.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Sourcing Specialist who can bring a range of skills and qualifications to this role. You will have a strong understanding of procurement processes and procedures, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
