Certified Pharmacy Technician

The Certified Pharmacy Technician CPhT Infusion Admixture II is responsible for working under the direct supervision of a physician in an admixture room, performing technical tasks related to medication preparation.
Key duties include preparing medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a physician, verifying patient information and proper physician authorization for all orders, and calculating correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
Additional responsibilities include assisting in counting controlled drugs weekly and maintaining records, providing support with inventory control of medications, prepares labels, files, and billing, and basic data entry into department automation.
Required Skills and Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent; entry level to three years experience in a pharmacy.
- Minimum three to five years experience in a pharmacy with IV skills; IV certification preferred; Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement recommended.
- Minimum five to seven years experience in a pharmacy with IV skills; Oncology background preferred or extensive IV preparation experience; completion of an ASHP accredited program or community college based program recommended.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, be detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
