About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Disability Support Specialist to join our team at Crescent Respite. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one assistance to clients with disabilities in our newly established SIL accommodation in Tarneit, Victoria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily living skills support to clients with disabilities
  • Assist clients with personal care, medications, community access, meal preparation, domestic chores, and mealtime assistance
  • Support clients with challenging behaviors and develop strategies to promote positive outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure high-quality care and support
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in disability support, community services, or a related field
  • Experience working with clients from forensic backgrounds and those with Alzheimer's disease, AOD, or mental health disabilities
  • Demonstrated experience supporting challenging behaviors
  • Certificate III or above in Disability Support or a related field
  • Valid Victorian Driver's License
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • Manual Handling certificate
  • Medication Administration certificate
  • Victorian Working with Children's Check
  • National Police Check (obtained within the last 6 months)
