Regional Journalism Opportunities

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a regional journalist. As a reporter, you will be based in Charleville but will spend most of your time in the field covering the south-west Queensland region.

The Role

We are looking for two experienced reporters with a minimum of two years' experience in a newsroom. The successful applicants will work independently and be self-motivated to chase stories and deliver content.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Find and tell compelling stories that reflect the unique character of western Queensland
  • Prepare and produce audio, video, digital and social media stories for local and national audiences
  • Build a strong rapport with local community leaders and engage with stakeholders on behalf of the organisation
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent skills and experience
  • A creative approach to content creation with strong live presentation and broadcast skills
  • Strong editorial judgment with ability to source, analyse, and verify information
  • Possession of a current and valid driver's licence
