About the Role:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse with teaching experience to write First Nations units and advise on other units, ensuring cultural sensitivity from a First Nation perspective.
This is an Identified position under Section 27(4) of the Public Sector Management Act 1994 and is only open to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lecturing, teaching, assessing, and marking Nursing students.
- Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
- Teaching lecture and tutorial classes.
- Developing the First Nations units for Diploma, Bachelor, and Master's level Nursing courses.
- Advising on the suitability of other units from a First Nations perspective, ensuring cultural appropriateness.
- Assisting in developing support services and systems for First Nation students.
- Occasionally coordinating or leading activities of other staff in the same discipline.
- Engaging in teaching evaluations, maintaining professional development, and pursuing new teaching methodologies.
- Identifying and monitoring students at risk of failing and organizing support efforts.
- Maintaining high professional and ethical standards, including self-management, resilience, and collaboration.
