Teaching Opportunities

We deliver high-quality enabling programs to prepare students for university study. Our programs provide essential skills to transition to university study, including academic writing, research and information literacy, career awareness, navigational skills, maths and human biology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct tutorials/lectures to an excellent standard, preparing lesson plans and facilitating informed group discussions and activities to enhance student engagement.
  • Consultation with students in relation to weekly topics, readings, and upcoming assessments.
  • Assisting with assessment administration, such as marking, entering results and providing feedback to students as required.
  • Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
  • Completion of relevant required induction/professional development through the institution.
  • Identify and engage students at risk of course failure or non-completion following agreed processes and ensure appropriate supports are put in place.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of an undergraduate qualification (possession or progress toward Honours, Masters or PhD desirable) and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • Prior teaching experience at the tertiary level with sound understanding of core academic skills required for successful university study, enabling pedagogy and/or adult learning principles.
  • Experience in or awareness of secondary teaching will be beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to foster high levels of collegiality and ability to empathise with students.
  • Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to, or a willingness to learn how to incorporate technology into teaching and learning.
  • Proven ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload and meet deadlines, in a busy education environment.
