About the RoleThis 1-year max term position involves 15 hours per week and requires flexibility in responding to the unique needs of youth high-performance athletes. As a member of our Mental Health and Wellbeing Team, you will support wellbeing strategies designed to enhance the development of youth athletes in a high-performance sporting environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating the development and implementation of wellbeing strategies with players in the football environment
- Managing the delivery of a wellbeing curriculum for players
- Attendance at training and matches
- Relationship management with key staff for a consistent approach to the development of players (on and off field) during their time in the program
- Providing individual support and guidance to help players pursue personal wellbeing and mental fitness, strive for a sport-life balance, and build social capital
- Guiding and counseling players on appropriate themes that present in their lives as athletes and young people
- Advocating for safeguarding children and ensuring we are doing all we can to keep children within our programs safe at all times
We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional who possesses a Bachelor qualification in Education, Psychology, Health, or a related field. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholder groups, are essential.
You should have a demonstrated growth mindset, previous experience working with adolescents, and a deep understanding of processes pertaining to medical and allied health referral services. Experience with safeguarding children processes and practices is also highly desirable.
About the OpportunityThis role offers a unique chance to work in a dynamic team committed to innovation in areas of health, wellbeing, and positive psychology. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive support, training, and development opportunities, including on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring, as well as formal learning through our My Development program.
The estimated salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
