Career Opportunity: Mental Health Nurse Consultant

Job Summary:

This is an exceptional career opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our dynamic multidisciplinary community team as a Mental Health Nurse Consultant. The successful applicant will work with consumers and their carers presenting with complex mental health needs and/or behaviours of concern.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to provide education and guidance to internal and external partners, including Residential Aged Care Facility staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health specialty, with a minimum of 5 years full-time post graduate experience.

The role involves conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, developing, implementing and evaluating consumer-focused comprehensive care plans based on evidence-based practice.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop, implement and evaluate interventions and care plans.
  • Provide education and guidance to internal and external partners, including Residential Aged Care Facility staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary community team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years full-time post graduate experience in a mental health specialty.
  • Postgraduate qualification in mental health drug and alcohol or other such qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
  • Demonstrated experience working with consumers and their carers presenting with complex mental health needs and/or behaviours of concern.
