Job Description

Elwood College is seeking a dynamic instructional leader to join our leadership team.

  • Expert Curriculum Knowledge: Design and implement curriculum to build students' literacy levels in a whole school approach.
  • High-Impact Teaching Strategies: Implement best practice across the school to support literacy aims and objectives.
  • Assessment and Data Use: Examine areas needing focus related to literacy and monitor the effectiveness of strategies.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Establish and build professional relationships and communication skills to assist in implementing literacy objectives.
  • Department Values and Professional Learning: Model behaviours consistent with Department of Education values and facilitate professional learning to help colleagues reflect on and improve their own practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Key roles of the Learning Specialist may include:

  • Demonstrating high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
  • Modeling exemplary classroom practice through teaching demonstration lessons.
  • Developing a shared view of highly effective teacher practice with the school leadership team.
  • Leading and modeling the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
