Automation Specialist

This role entails maintaining the consistency and usability of online systems through ongoing automated testing. It also involves ensuring that application changes meet both specification and customer journey requirements.

The Automation Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining automation frameworks, executing automated test cases for complex financial services applications, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and contributing to the Test Community of Practice.

  • Develop / Maintain automation frameworks along with supporting documentation.
  • Develop / execute automated test cases for highly complex financial services applications.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that provide automated and timely feedback on quality of our applications.
  • Be a key contributor in Test Community of Practice, sharing and introducing advancements and better practices in test automation.
  • Work with Functional Test Analysts to ensure high risk areas have adequate coverage with automated tests.
  • Help establish and refine risk-assessed test strategies for application and API testing.
  • Champion an Automation First approach to testing, while working with developers and test analysts to achieve this.
  • Provide on call assistance as required.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an automation engineer.
  • Demonstrated sound communication skills, including with technical staff, end-users and management.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SoapUI, Postman, Selenium Java Web Driver, Cucumber & headless browsers is desirable.
  • Experience with Bitbucket and Bamboo.
  • Ability to build or extend automated test frameworks.
  • Demonstrated sound skills in problem solving, time and resource management, and ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Pragmatic and resilient to change.
