The Opportunity

We are in search of a seasoned Mechanical Specialist Technician, possessing a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience, ideally in advanced manufacturing within the aerospace or automotive sectors. This role entails executing production assembly and quality inspection tasks to a high standard on intricate components with minimal supervision, utilizing tools in accordance with production process data.

You will be part of a growing production team, engaging with some of the most advanced engineering manufacturing technologies in the industry.

Position Duties

  • Conduct production assembly and quality inspection tasks.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Production teams on First of Type assembly processes, capturing necessary assembly information to enhance production processes.
  • Comprehend and interpret production process data (e.g., Parts Manufacturing Information - PMI, Assembly work instructions, Commercial Specifications, Tools, etc.).
  • Report issues and defects related to production operations (including detailed supporting information) and adhere to non-conformity processes, including executing rework order process operations when necessary.
  • Maintain precise records and traceability of production process operations, including inputs and outputs.
  • Perform verification process operations on input parts and assemblies using company and industry-standard testing tools and methodologies.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Collaborate with production team members to achieve Delivery In Full On Time (DIFOT).
  • Keep work centers and production areas at a high level of cleanliness.
  • Engage with engineering and production teams to provide feedback on production process data.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues at mechanical assembly work centers.
  • Execute required quality processes, including checking and maintaining calibrated tools and equipment used in mechanical assembly operations.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications.

• Minimum of 5 years' experience, preferably in advanced manufacturing within the aerospace or automotive sectors.

• Demonstrated experience in manual mechanical assembly.
