About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at BEAR Scotland Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a road maintenance team in Perth Depot, delivering cyclic maintenance programs, defect repairs, scheme work, emergencies, and winter tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of road maintenance professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the optimal condition of trunk roads in the North West of Scotland.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Administer records, including timesheets, scheme files, and other relevant documentation.
  • Manage team health and safety, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Work closely with the South Area Operations Manager to develop and implement strategies to improve maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Produce rotas for emergency and winter maintenance activities.
  • Conduct inspections of completed works to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
  • Develop and review health and safety documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in a standby rota to ensure 24/7 coverage.
  • Lead nightshift works as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in road maintenance, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality services.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the importance of efficient maintenance practices.
  • A fully approved UK driving license.
