Business Services Senior Accountant

We are seeking a senior accountant with strong leadership skills to join our team in Melbourne, VIC. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take on a management role and lead a small team of professionals.

About the Role
  • We are offering a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, plus benefits.

This position involves working closely with clients to provide tax and accounting services, including preparation of income tax returns and financial statements. You will also be responsible for leading a small team of junior accountants and providing guidance and support as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Preparation of income tax returns and financial statements for individuals, trusts, companies, partnerships, and self-managed superfunds.
  2. Preparation of FBT returns, Payroll tax returns, Business Activity Statements.
  3. Research and preparation of tax advice based on various issues including FBT, CGT, structuring, tax residency.
  4. Virtual CFO services.
  5. Evaluation of Div 7A implications of company accounts and preparation of loan repayments.
  6. Preparation of tax projections and year-end tax planning for clients.
  7. Assisting with client growth strategies and strategic planning throughout the year.
  8. Ad hoc client assistance with all accounting and tax queries.
  9. Liaising with ATO and other regulatory authorities on behalf of clients.
  10. Developing an in-depth knowledge of and relationship with your clients to allow you to grow the firm's relationship and services.
Requirements
  • 4+ years' experience in an Australian public practice.
  • Degree qualified and completed your CA or CPA.
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
  • High attention to detail and a dedicated work ethic.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage daily workflow and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing junior staff.
  • Competent with Xero, BGL, and CAS 360 software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
