Job Overview

As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in the Operational Forecasting team. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement forecast models for electricity demand, distributed photovoltaics (PV), and renewable energy generation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and improve forecast models for electricity demand, rooftop PV, solar farms, and wind farms.

• Collaborate with weather providers and control rooms to translate weather risks into system impacts.

• Coordinate across teams and markets to align tools, data, and processes between the National Electricity Market (NEM) and Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM).

• Provide energy and weather insights for operational advisories, incident reviews, and market reports.

• Support upgrades and digital enhancements of forecasting systems to improve their performance and reliability.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering, mathematics, meteorology, or a related field.

• Experience in the energy sector or similar, preferably in forecasting or analytical roles.

• Strong communication skills, with experience preparing reports and presentations for diverse stakeholders.

• Knowledge of data analysis and statistical modeling tools such as PowerBI, Databricks, SQL, and Excel.

• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple projects in a team environment.
