About the Role

The Apex Group is seeking a skilled IT Deskside Agent to join our team in Sydney. As the onsite contact for local users, you will be responsible for providing high-level customer interaction and resolving IT requests in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite IT support for the office
  • Maintain the IT infrastructure of the office
  • Support office technologies and EUC hardware onsite, including building and repairing laptops and desktops
  • Deploy IT equipment to new starters
  • Collect IT equipment from leavers
  • Provide printer support
  • Offer hands-on support for remote teams, such as deploying infrastructure and resolving onsite issues
  • Install network cabling and patching in the office
  • Assist with office moves and setups
  • Manage IT asset inventory
  • Provision, deploy, and support phones
  • Collaborate with vendors who provide IT solutions in the office
  • Work closely with local office management on office technology issues and requirements
  • Communicate clearly and politely with users, keeping them informed of the progress of IT requests
  • Highlight and report major IT issues and risks to the Service Manager in a timely manner
  • Research, test, and implement new systems to improve efficiencies and satisfy user requests

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a computer-related support or IT operational environment
  • Good technology understanding and awareness of MS technologies, including Intune, Active Directory, and Office 365
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English
  • Experience with documentation and improving SOPs and other process documents
  • Good customer focus and excellent timekeeping
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills
  • Good problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently
  • Experience with configuring and supporting Windows Desktop (10/11)
  • Some basic experience with supporting physical networking is desirable but not essential
