Role Summary

As a skilled Naval Architect, you will play a key role in supporting the Offshore Patrol Vessel and Hydrographic Capability for the Australian Defence Force. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly respected Australian company and global leader in innovation and technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct systems analysis to derive function, performance, and interface requirements to meet electrical safety parameters.
  • Provide engineering support for sustainment of the Patrol and Hydrographic ships during maintenance activities and in-service defects.
  • Review engineering documentation, including docking calculations, stability calculations, structural calculations, work instructions, defect assessments, repair procedures, test procedures, and engineering reports.
  • Engage with System Design activities, including trade studies, to ensure design artefacts are compatible with the baselined product.
  • Develop work scope and risk assessments for in-service defects, trials, emerging maintenance, and reliability issues requiring knowledge of engineering fundamentals and relevant class society requirements.
  • Produce safety and technical risk assessments in accordance with the Defence Seaworthiness Management System.
