Job Opportunity

This Explosive Ordnance Engineer role involves providing consultancy advice and technical solutions to clients in project settings, helping them solve complex problems. The role requires expertise in pyrotechnics, propellants, and high explosives.

Key responsibilities include providing specialist engineering and technical advice, developing and reviewing technical assessments, and implementing procedures for fuze and ignition system design and safety. The successful candidate will also support assurance activities and represent ADF interests domestically and internationally.

  • Providing specialist engineering and technical advice relating to fuze and ignition system safety and design to clients.
  • Developing and/or reviewing technical assessments related to fuze and ignition system design safety in support of acquisition and sustainment.
  • Supporting the National Review Board for Safety, Arming, and Function (SAF) systems in accordance with the board's terms of reference.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree in a suitable field, relevant experience, and a demonstrably elevated level of professional knowledge on guided weapon systems and/or Explosive Ordnance. Relevant skills include experience working with ASDEFCON principles, Defence technical regulatory frameworks, and explosive ordnance, materiel management, technical management.
