At Rockwell Automation, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Proposal Team Lead to join our team in the South Pacific region. As a key member of our proposal development team, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of proposal engineers to develop technical and commercial proposals that align with our business objectives and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire proposal development process, from initial planning and scoping to final delivery and presentation to the customer.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality proposals are developed within the framework of Rockwell Automation's business and financial goals while adhering to internal policies and industry standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the proposal engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality proposals and serving as a trusted advisor to the sales organization and distributor.

Leadership:

  • Lead a team of proposal engineers and drives functional excellence in developing comprehensive and competitive Technical and Commercial Proposals as per the industry standards and internal policy compliance.
  • Passionate about leading people and work on their development. Organizes and schedules job tasks with her/his team by providing leadership to the assigned team and drive productivity.
  • Deliver and execute the assigned proposal on time with good quality, cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead proposal process from receiving request to throughout the entire proposal delivery ensuring seamless integration of proposed solutions to compliance with customer's requirements.
  • Develop robust quality process & ensure strict adherence. Work closely & guide the proposal team for timely support on estimation and proposal delivery.
  • Ensure that all audits (internal/external) are adequately documented, and significant risk are dealt in a timely manner.

Collaboration:

  • Aligning the business goals with South Pacific Regional stakeholders including the Commercial, Delivery teams and Business Managers.
  • Collaborate with various departments in the South Pacific Region, including sales, finance, legal, procurement, engineering, and project management, to ensure that proposals meet client requirements and align with company goals.
  • Collaborate with Technical Lead / SMEs to clarify technical issues and ability to present proposed solution to the stakeholders, and coordinate development tasks with team members.
  • Collaborate with PM for scope management, deliver execution plans and effectively propose the execution with good quality, cost effectiveness, risks assessment and project duration/schedule.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to identify opportunities for increased engagement, seek feedback on proposal deliverables and to improve overall engagement.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the proposal development process, including process optimization, standardization, knowledge sharing...etc.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing within the team by encouraging the exchange of best practices, lessons learned, and innovative solutions to improve the overall capabilities and effectiveness of the proposal team.
  • Maintain a positive and optimistic attitude, fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the proposal team and across the organization.
  • Continuously enhance your own engineering capabilities by staying updated with industry trends, attending training programs, and seeking opportunities for professional development.

Job Related Competencies:

  • Good reading and analytical experience of reviewing technical RFQ documents
  • Demonstrated understanding of larger Rockwell Automation application value including knowledge in Automation products including PLC, Standard Drives, Software, Networks and ideally good knowledge of third-party products.
  • Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation, initiative, and drive to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Exhibit the ability to tackle complex and challenging tasks with confidence, resourcefulness, and a problem-solving mindset, ensuring successful outcomes for proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a challenging environment with both internal and external customers.
  • Strong solution and application expertise, and related demonstrated sales experience.
  • Fluency with native language and strong command of English (written & spoken).
  • Ability to work with and gain confidence of senior level personnel (internal and external) in a highly collaborative, matrixed stakeholder organization.
