About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Fitter Mechanic to join our team at Energy Queensland. As an Electrical Fitter Mechanic, you will play a key role in performing customer connections, meter installations and upgrades, as well as shock investigations for both residential and business customers.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of an electricity distribution/transmission system, including construction and maintenance of the electrical network. They will also have demonstrated experience in meter installations and upgrades, and switchboard wiring.

The role will involve working on a 72hr, 9-day fortnight roster, with overtime paid at double time. The successful candidate will also be required to complete a pre-employment medical as part of the selection process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform customer connections, meter installations and upgrades
  • Conduct shock investigations for both residential and business customers

Requirements
  • Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic
  • Demonstrated knowledge of an electricity distribution/transmission system
  • Demonstrated experience in meter installations and upgrades, and switchboard wiring
  • Availability for call out and emergency work
  • Willingness to travel to surrounding areas from time to time to undertake work
  • Current 'C' class open Drivers Licence
