Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Aviation Department that aligns with the University's goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of academic staff, including professors, lecturers, and research assistants.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in aviation, including curriculum design, teaching, and assessment.
  • Manage research initiatives and collaborations with industry partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage budgets, including allocating resources and ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Represent the Aviation Department and the University in various internal and external forums, including conferences, workshops, and meetings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote the University's interests and advance its goals.
  • Ensure compliance with University policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to academic integrity, research ethics, and workplace health and safety.
Requirements
  • A PhD in a relevant field, such as aviation, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A strong academic background, including a proven track record of research and publication.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team of academic staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to represent the University in various internal and external forums.
  • Ability to manage budgets and ensure financial sustainability.
  • Experience in managing research initiatives and collaborations with industry partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
