Job Overview

This role is part of a multidisciplinary team in the Biochemistry department, providing essential laboratory services to patients.

The successful candidate will work under general guidance from the Scientist in Charge, performing professional work and complex or critical laboratory tasks.

  • Apply scientific knowledge and expertise to diagnose and troubleshoot standard diagnostic procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with interdepartmental teams, clinical staff, and patients to provide accurate information on samples, results, and test-related data.

This is a fixed-term, part-time position requiring shift work, including out-of-hours duties as rostered. The salary range for this position is $73,834 to $111,364 per annum, pro rata.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Science, or Applied Science, or equivalent, from a recognized institution.
  • Eligibility for membership with a relevant professional body, such as the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists or the Australasian Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine.
