About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Sustainability Specialist to join our Commercial team. As a key member of this group, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Coles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist technical advice on sustainable sourcing standards and driving improved sustainability outcomes through collaboration with suppliers, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering project leadership of sustainable sourcing standards to drive improved sustainability credentials and stakeholder perceptions.
  • Developing, delivering, and managing policies, guidelines, and technical tools to support Coles Own Brand sustainable sourcing standards for high-impact commodities.
  • Implementing internal processes and reporting on implementation to the business and external organizations as required.
  • Managing Coles Illegal Logging Due Diligence Requirements.

In turn, you will have significant impact on supply chains to drive positive sustainability outcomes of thousands of products across Australia.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications or industry experience in sustainability, environment, or product stewardship.
  • Policy, program, and strategy development and implementation expertise.
  • Knowledge of high-impact commodity sustainability risks.
  • Project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work within a commercial, fast-paced, and complex environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.
