Job Overview

The role of a personal support worker in nursing care involves providing high-quality patient care and comfort.

Key responsibilities include accompanying patients on outdoor activities, performing patient care and comfort duties, supplying and emptying bed pans, taking vital signs, serving meal trays and feeding patients, weighing, lifting, turning and positioning patients, making beds and maintaining patient rooms, supervising exercise routines, maintaining inventory, bathing, dressing and grooming patients, transporting patients in wheelchairs or stretchers, answering call signals, collecting specimens, administering first aid, providing personal care and companionship, and performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties.

Preferred qualifications include a college diploma or certificate from a program lasting between 3 months to less than 1 year, as well as certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), First Aid, CPR, Nursing Aide, and Health Care Aide.

This is a full-time position with the possibility of overtime. The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling, as well as attention to detail.
