About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Contracts Lead to join our Rail Infrastructure Services team in Seven Hills, NSW. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead and mentor junior members of the team, providing exceptional commercial acumen and contract administration expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting scopes of works and tender packages to accompany requests for quotations issued to subcontractors for projects
  • Conducting initial investigations with subcontractors to clarify organisational conditions relating to contracts for prospective projects
  • Managing and driving the review process to ensure the award of all subcontractors within the required timeframe and budget
  • Maintaining a register of subcontractors
  • Minimising all subcontractor variation claims and eliminating claims where possible
  • Operating and maintaining commercial and contract systems including Project Costs Reporting (PCR), Project Pack Web (PPW), MARS, Workday, Commercial Pack database and Contract Sum
  • Ensuring cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained and keeping project management teams abreast of any costs issues immediately upon identification
  • Interpreting specifications and drawings to understand scope of works for the project at Head Contract and Sub Contract scope level
  • Participating in identification and quantification of Head Contracts
  • Managing subcontractors to ensure that Code compliance is maintained at all times
  • Preparing variation, claims or letters for Head Contract management for allocated Projects or projects
  • Preparing Forecast sheets for projects and assisting Project team with Cost Review and reporting
  • Monthly Progress claim reviews and submissions
  • Assessing commercial and contractual risks involved in delivery and implementation of projects and identifying and implementing controls
  • Checking compliance and preparing reporting on commercial performance of the contract
  • Processing and recommending progress claims for work completed and referring disputed claims by subcontractors to the relevant manager for decision
