Disability Support Worker

Job Overview

This role involves providing support to individuals with disabilities in their daily lives, promoting independence and enabling them to reach their full potential.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Support participants with disabilities in their day-to-day life, assisting with tasks such as personal care, household chores, and community access.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans to meet the unique needs of each participant.
  • Provide emotional support and advocacy for individuals with disabilities, promoting inclusivity and respect.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferable).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people who have complex support needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • National Police Check.
  • Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain).

What You Need to Know

This is a casual role working fixed shifts, Monday to Friday. A reliable vehicle and current driver's license are required. A Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability or Individual Support is preferred but not essential.
