Job Description

Provide tailored tutorial assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Program (ITAP).

Mentor students, guide their academic success, and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality academic support to students studying STEPS, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses across various disciplines.
  • Develop and implement effective tutoring strategies to cater to individual student needs.
Requirements
  1. A completed qualification at the level at which you are tutoring, e.g., a minimum bachelor's degree to tutor students in a Bachelor-level course.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and societies, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
  3. Currently hold or be eligible to obtain a Blue Card (Working with Children Positive Notice) to comply with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 for regulated employment in education and care services.
