Occupational Therapist for Low Vision Services

Job Summary:

As an Occupational Therapist with our organization, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality services to individuals with low vision or blindness.

About the Role:

  • This part-time position involves working three days a week, offering a unique opportunity for growth and development.
  • The ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and willing to travel. Graduates are encouraged to apply, as this role offers comprehensive training.
  • Responsibilities include developing and implementing intervention programs for clients with vision impairment, collaborating with clients and colleagues to establish achievable goals, maintaining accurate documentation, and preparing reports and correspondence.
  • Additionally, you will prepare and present information sessions and workshops on occupational therapy intervention programs related to vision impairment and identify and pursue networking opportunities to increase referrals for ILS services in the region.

Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA.
  • A sound understanding of client-centred practice.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and modern technology such as mobile phone applications.
  • A current Class C driver's license.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience delivering occupational therapy intervention programs.
  • Qualifications or further study in occupational therapy related to vision impairment.
