Job Description

The role of the Mine Planning Engineer is primarily responsible for the designing and scheduling of medium-term operations.

  • To review and optimise the medium term mine design and schedules
  • To provide medium term mine planning options which will ensure the resource is mined in the most cost-effective way consistent with company and legislative requirements

The engineer will effectively communicate with short-term planning engineers to ensure that the plan is effectively implemented by the mining department.

Requirements

Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering

Over 5 years open cut mining engineering experience

High level of analytical ability

Greenfield coal mine development

Possess strong technical understanding of geotechnical bulk materials handling

In-depth knowledge of legislation and policies for Australian Coal Operations
