Lead Transit Planning Strategist

This is a senior leadership role in transit planning with HDR. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, team-building, skills development, and business growth.

  • The Lead Transit Planning Strategist will work closely with the Transit Planning Practice Leader to identify global and local needs within the practice, industry trends, required skills, and emerging markets.
  • They will coordinate with regional teams to identify market drivers and develop products to meet client needs.
  • The position involves presenting regional transit planning activities and needs on regular calls and contributing to the technical development of transit planning staff.
  • The Lead Transit Planning Strategist will also identify market opportunities, develop winning pursuit strategies, and lead workshare communications for technical excellence.
  • Additional responsibilities include serving as a project manager for major transit projects, leveraging HDR's global expertise, and representing HDR at state and regional level professional organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Serve as a project manager for major transit projects, leveraging HDR's global expertise.
  • Team Development: Contribute to the technical development of transit planning staff and serve as a mentor.
  • Business Development: Identify market opportunities and develop business growth strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in transportation planning
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Understanding of transit planning principles
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel
  • Solid business development skills
