The Sydney Symphony Orchestra is seeking a skilled trombonist to lead the section and uphold a professional standard in preparation for rehearsals and performances.

  • Musicianship skills, with a strong ability to communicate and lead the section
  • Participate in a wide range of activities, including rehearsals, performances, sectionals, and tour commitments
">Key Responsibilities:">
  1. Undertake duties in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Musicians' Agreement
  2. Uphold a professional standard and approach in preparation for rehearsals and performances
  3. Engender a positive section culture and model high standards of workplace behaviour through adherence to SSO policies
  4. Provide leadership support to Section members in the resolution of issues
  5. Participate in rehearsals, performances, and sectionals as rostered
  6. Be available to tour within Australia and internationally

  1. Professional quality instrument(s) must be used in all performances
  2. Availability to perform a live audition if selected from a recorded submission
