Job Description:

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing is seeking a skilled Solicitor to join its Corporate and Construction team. As a key member of the team, you will provide high-quality legal advice and support on various matters associated with the delivery of the State's housing investment program. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the effective implementation of the program, which aims to deliver affordable housing options for Victorian residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide well-reasoned legal advice and briefings to departmental colleagues and clients.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver client-focused legal services.
  • Contribute to strategic planning to improve legal services and client outcomes.


Requirements:

You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. A strong understanding of construction law, contracts, and procurement principles is essential. You should also possess the ability to analyze complex information and provide clear, concise advice.

In addition, you will need to have a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Experience working in a government agency or similar environment would be highly regarded.
