The Centre for Microscopy, Characterisation and Analysis (CMCA) is seeking an experienced Graduate Research Assistant to contribute to cutting-edge research initiatives.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Graduate Research Assistant. This is a full-time appointment on a 3-year fixed-term basis, offering a base salary range of $80,243 - $88,940 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimising digital imaging platforms for plant phenotyping in lab and field settings. You will also support researchers by coordinating image-based experiments and analysing visual and spectral data.

You will work closely with our national research infrastructure platform to drive food and crop innovation. Your contributions will have a significant impact on advancing plant science and agriculture.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualified in imaging, plant science, data science or a related field with hands-on research experience.
  • Skilled in image and spectral data analysis, including hyperspectral sensing.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organised and self-motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities.
