About the Role

Lifeblood is seeking a skilled and compassionate Donor Services Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Newcastle Donor Centre and Mobile Donor Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our donors, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the donation process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview potential donors to assess their eligibility and suitability for donation
  • Conduct routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
  • Set up and operate equipment, including machines, tubing, and collection bags
  • Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
  • Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation
Requirements
  • Occasional lifting of up to 22.7kgs
  • Frequent standing, walking, and bending to set up and pack down equipment
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday
