About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Consultant to join our team at Geoscience Ireland. As a Principal Consultant, you will be responsible for leading and delivering a range of projects related to environmental acoustics, building acoustics, and noise monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, data analysis, modeling, and design, including manipulating and managing large data sets.
  • Work on a wide range of projects, including environmental noise monitoring, building acoustics, 3D computer noise modeling, and numerical analysis of results.
  • Mentor and guide junior level staff.
  • Develop business development skills to bring influence to the breadth and range of projects the team works on.
Requirements
  • A relevant bachelor's degree (ideally mechanical or electrical engineering, environmental engineering, or science) or postgraduate degree in acoustics.
  • 10+ years' experience within a consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in building acoustics and environmental noise assessment.
  • Experience and high competency with noise monitoring equipment and 3D computer noise models.
  • The ability to be self-sufficient and build on business development skills.
