Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic to join our Defence Maintenance Contract team based at the Military Units in the Enoggera Region.

The successful candidate will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and even armoured tanks.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Mechanic to work on unique Defence vehicle and assets while receiving training and upskilling opportunities.

  • Conduct maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification.
  • Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials.
  • Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts.
  • Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs.
  • Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection.
  • Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level.
  • Open to Light Vehicle Mechanics with demonstrated Heavy vehicle experience.
  • Demonstrated experience to inspect, repair and maintain Light, Medium and Heavy vehicles.
  • A current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's License.
  • Be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
