About the Role

The School of Mathematics and Statistics at UNSW Australia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Teaching Fellow. This is a fixed-term, full-time opportunity for 12 months.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver mathematics tutorials and other teaching activities for up to 12 hours per week.
  • Carry out teaching-related tasks, such as class preparation, administration of records, and exam supervision.
  • Undertake lecturing and engage in mathematical research or scholarship, depending on interest and capacity.
  • Assist in course assessment, administration, and curriculum development, as well as outreach activities.
  • Undertake administrative duties as specified by the Head of School and/or the Director, First Year Studies.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated strong mathematical background.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching mathematics, with recent involvement in teaching years 11 and 12.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interest in promoting mathematical thinking in schools and the community.
  • Understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives, and values, as well as relevant policies and guidelines.
What We Offer
  • Level A - $110K - $117K, plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading.
  • Flexible work arrangements may be considered for applicants from regional, rural, or remote schools.
