We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Recovery, Day Surgery & Surgical Admissions team.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking acute nursing care in accordance with legislation, delivering evidence-based nursing care, and liaising with the multi-disciplinary team. They will also be required to ensure patient and staff safety, supervise, direct, and guide nursing team members, and complete all required documentation in accordance with local and National Policies.
Responsibilities- Undertake acute nursing care in accordance with legislation
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care
- Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
- Ensure patient and staff safety
- Supervise, direct, and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and (AINs) to deliver patient care
- Proactively assess the perioperative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual/patient
- Complete all required documentation in accordance with local and National Policies
To be considered for this role, you will need to have:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant post-registration experience
- Demonstrated experience working within an acute surgical unit – Preferably in a Day Surgery, Admissions, or Recovery setting
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiatives using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive team
- Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualized patient-centered care
- Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations
- Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills
- Flexibility to a seven-day roster including night duty
